HYDERABAD: In a follow-up to the adoption of the resolution on separate Telangana by the TDP’s Polit Bureau, the party is believed to have decided to send it to the UPA’s sub committee headed by Union Minister Pranab Mukherji, which is studying the issue.
Party sources said a copy of the resolution would be sent in a day or two coinciding with the short session of Parliament beginning Saturday. It would put an end to the speculation over whether the party would withdraw its earlier representation favouring a unified State or write a letter on the change in its stand.
Details on stance
After deliberating on the issue, the party has now decided to send the ‘self-explanatory’ resolution. The resolution details the circumstances under which it had to change its stand and favour separate Telangana in deference to the wishes of the people of the region.
Meanwhile, at a press conference on Friday, senior TDP leaders Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy made it clear that the party was fully behind N. Chandrababu Naidu.
