Reasons for deserving Indian National Congress candidature
for Vijayawada Parliamentary Constituency
No.  29 of Andhra Pradesh:

`The Congress is at the crossroads in Seemandhra region. The senior leaders, who have all along been enjoying power and might, have deserted the Congress. They have left the party to fend for itself at the crucial juncture, when the country needs the Congress most to fight fast emerging communal and divisive forces. Congress stands for unity and integrity and communal harmony in the country. As far as Seemandhra region is concerned, Congress needs the support of its traditional vote banks: Brahmins, Muslims and other minorities, BCs and Dalits.

I, Narasimha Murthy Sistla, is a staunch believer in the Congress. I have set into practice what I have believed. A fighter for communal harmony and national integrity, I stand for secularism both in word and deed. One of my sons-in-law is a Muslim, the other is a Reddy. Oppressed sections of society besides Brahmins, dalits and Muslims are solidly behind me for the selfless work I have done in the city parliamentary constituency.

A quick whiz through the milestones of my career path, proves my ultimate loyalty to the Congress, Congress Ideology, Congress way of thinking, Congress attitude, Congress outlook and  Congress philosophy. People say everything about Narasimha Murhty is strikingly 'Congress'.

A few of the qualities of Narasimha Murthy Sistla:

·         A man with an exceptional organizing ability
·          Mobiliser of resources both human and material
·         A loveable, likeable and cherishable  leadership ability.
·         Immense popularity
·         Strong sense of discipline
·         Strong penchant for serving the vast multitude of humanity
·         An eye for integrated development
·         And above all, being a staunch Congress loyalist, it definitely entails him
the candidature for the Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency.

Winning Chances
The Congress in Seemandhra is passing through a critical phase, reminiscent of the period soon after emergency. In elections to the Lok Sabha held in 1977, the Congress won all the 42 MP seats in the state. Then chief minister J Vengala Rao, who thought that the party won because of his charisma, revolted against Indira Gandhi. He along with Kasu Brahmananda Reddy floated what came to be known as Reddy Congress. All senior leaders in the Congress had deserted the party just before the crucial assembly elections in 1978. The Congress under the leadership of Indira Gandhi was left with only sincere workers hailing from downtrodden sections, Brahmins, Muslims and BCs. The congress won the Assembly polls in 1978, defeating the leaders-heavy Reddy Congress.

The situation now is similar to that of 1978. All big leaders have deserted the Congress. The traditional groups are returning to the Congress. In these circumstances, the chances of a sincere leader, who hails from the Brahmin community and enjoys the support of all sections of people, winning the polls are bright. And Narasimha Murthy fits the bill. He is sure to bring back the glory of the Congress in Seemandhra. His candidature will also send the right message that the Congress is committed to the welfare of its traditional voters.
