DON'T REPAY CALL MONEY, CHANDRABABU TELLS VICTIMS
Vijayawada: Apparently perturbed over the Call Money scam, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asked all the borrowers not to repay the money. Speaking to media here on Monday, Chandrababu expressed pain over the scam and blamed the police and intelligence agencies for their failure in sensing the issue and prevent it before it took such a huge proportion. "If anyone asks you for the repayment, file a case and the government will take serious action including booking under Nirbhaya Act," Chief Minister said.
Chandrababu said scams like spurious liquor that killed five people and adulterated ghee in recent times would affect the image of the state and the government will take severe action against those involved in the illegal activities.
MLA Bode Prasad Clarifies
MLA Bode Prasad, who has been associated with the main accused in the scam on Monday said Venigalla Srikanth is only his friend and he invested in Call Money. Clarifying on the photographs of his family along with Srikanth's family touring foreign countries, the MLA said he would go on foreign trips with family and it has nothing to do with any business. "I spent my own money which I earned in real estate business and I have nothing to do with Call Money business," he said.
