Cameras missed those moments, but what transpired in the 10 minutes after Friday’s Parliament session was adjourned reflected the drastic change in the ruling party’s approach towards the Opposition, and its eagerness to reach out to them.

At 6.17 pm, after the House was adjourned and the Speaker left for her chambers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stayed on, exchanging pleasantries with colleagues after wrapping up the two-day debate on India’s Commitment to the Constitution. That’s when Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu called out to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, who was talking to staff at the lower house. “Kharge ji, aao na, haat milaiye (Mr Kharge, come, let’s shake hands),” he said, as the PM turned and smiled at Kharge.

When Kharge hesitated, Naidu repeated his request. “Chalo, dil mile na mile, haat toh milayenge (Whether hearts meet or not, let’s shake hands),” Kharge said, walking towards the PM, who had already taken a few steps towards the Congress leader. Modi then shook hands with the seemingly hesitant Kharge.

Then came a suggestion from Union Minister Ramkripal Yadav — “Gale miliye (exchange a hug)” — to which Kharge gave a dismissive expression. “Hum matching mein bhi hain aaj (We are also wearing matching clothes today),” Modi then told the Opposition leader, referring to the pale white jackets both of them were wearing. Kharge was the only leader from the Opposition benches left in the house — both Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhihad already left.

The PM’s friendliness was not just limited to the Opposition. Moments earlier, Modi shook hands with several MPs who came to greet him. When former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa came to greet him, Modi patted him on the shoulder and ticked off a fly sitting on his white shirt. The PM also exchanged pleasantries with Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh and his MP nephew Dharmendra Yadav.

Modi also went to senior BJP leader L K Advani, who was standing near the front bench, held his hand and spoke to him for almost a minute.

Dear Aamir Khan,
Now that you have had your say on intolerance, can you please get back to work? Of course, we knew you are not leaving the country, neither is Kiran; you didn't even have to say it. If you are wounded by all the nastiness thrown at you, remember work is a wonderful healer.
You are an icon, and in India, icons transcend narrow identities. They are not judged as Hindu, Muslim, this or that. No one, I know of, thinks of Amitabh Bachchan or Sachin Tendulkar as Hindus or Shah Rukh, Salman and you as Muslims. That is the beauty of India. Small people cannot change that, try howsoever hard they may.
You are right when you say that over the last few months there’s a sense of disquiet in the country. If that was not the case, the topic of intolerance would not be occupying the national mindspace in the first place. The fear could be all imagination and no substance, still, take the politics out of it and it’s a good issue to be raised. I don’t think you were being political when you said what you said. No rational mind would support thugs of different shades threatening people, asking them what to eat, and how to live. If people are bent on linking this lot to an ideology and a political party, it cannot be your fault.

I know you are being asked a lot of questions challenging your integrity these days. Intolerance is in India’s DNA; why are you making a big deal out of it? They ask. Why were you silent when this or that was happening? Which country does not have intolerance? It goes on. It’s like saying rapes have been happening in India for ages, there’s no need for someone to take umbrage if it happens now. There can be no answer to such silly questions. Don’t dignify these people with an answer. The most appropriate response would be silence. Stay silent on these.
We live in highly politicised times. Everything you say or do is likely to be interpreted in terms of political leaning. If you have bothered to notice, your movie PK had more combustible content for controversy than what you said a couple of days ago. Still your remark on intolerance generated more controversy than your movie. The difference between the two is a bit convoluted. Both were talking about religion, one directly and the other in a covert manner. If you feel like the confused-by-the-ways- of-humans alien you portrayed in PK now, blame it on the political temper of our times. Speak on issues if you must, but be mindful of the connotations it might assume.
You maintained silence over the subject for so long. You expressed yourself only when the media asked you to talk about it. Now that you have been honest about it, the hate crowd is out to lynch you. You had the option not to open your mouth. But that could have been interpreted in another way. People say you revived a dead topic unnecessarily. Rest assured, you didn’t. The media did it. A month later they will ask the same question to someone else and if he replies he will accused of taking sides. Keep off the media; they love controversies. But if you want to speak up, that’s entirely your choice.
Invite the venerable Anupam Kher for tea. Help him out of bitterness towards people he seems to have developed of late. Convince him that it’s fine to have a political view and opinion on issues, but it’s not necessary to engage in verbal duel every time someone says something that appears to be hurting the interest of a political party or a political person. Convince him that the creative community is special. Political leaning does not define it nor does it give it success; talent does. It is bad when talented people become political enemies. If he is anywhere close to the amiable screen characters he plays often, then he will be attentive.
Coming back to you being an icon, your place will always special. Focus on what made you one.

New Delhi: CBI announced today that it is planning to momentarily shift focus from less important cases and focus entirely on ‘which channel was the first to break the news of Peter Mukerjea’s arrest’.

Speaking to Faking News CBI chief said, “It’s been more than 24 hours since Peter Mukerjea was arrested by the CBI but news channels are still showing it as breaking news and claiming that there were the first to break the news of his arrest. Around 10 channels have been making this claim and still there is no clarity about ‘who actually broke this news first’.”

“We have been looking at footage, statements from news anchors, emails etc to figure out which news channel can rightfully claim to have done it before the rest. There is a lot of pressure from the top to excavate the truth and we are leaving no stone unturned,” he added.

Sources from various news channel confirmed having witnessed CBI style raids and investigation at their respective work places. “I was at the coffee vending machine to have coffee and it seemed like the machine wasn’t working properly. Curious to know I opened the machine and to my surprise, found a CBI official hiding inside. When questioned, he said he was recording coffee machine conversation to gather evidence.”

CBI has also requested a few news channels to share with them evidence related to the case to help them investigate better. “While conducting raids, we found that some of the news channels have more evidence that even we could even think of,” said the CBI chief.

Meanwhile a few CBI officials were seen entering TimeNow studios armed with nothing but noise cancellation headphones to interrogate Arnab Goswami.

“We are close to solving this case and a few question answer sessions with Arnab Goswami will probably get us to the bottom of this mystery,” said a senior CBI official as he put on his headphone.

The first outreach programme of Rahul Gandhi, a year-and-half after the Congress was thrown out of power and he occupied opposition benches, at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore left him hugely embarrassed.
By the time the over-an-hour interaction - his opening statement and a question and answer session ended - it was clear that the Congress vice president, who kept on stressing on one word “conversation” with all concerned and position of women in society at large, was clearly out of sync with the popular pulse, at least those in this metropolis.

The questions were so pointed that Rahul for the first time accepted that GST was a good reformist bill and the Congress would support it if the government was inclined to engage with them and address “three concerns” including capping of taxes proposed in the bill.
Rahul seemed ill-prepared to handle questions which came from the young girls. It was part of the format of the programme. Unfortunately for him, the big embarrassing moment came when responding to his question whether the Swachh Bharat campaign was working the students responded with a loud “Yes”.
Surprised by the response, he said he would ask a different question: “You think Make in India is good”? Again there was a loud “Yes” for answer. Rahul was clearly stumped not just by their approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India programme but also the ferocity with which the students responded. “You think so!” he said. Then he asked: do you think youth are getting jobs in India? The answer was a mix of ‘Yes’ and ‘No’. But Rahul heard 'No' for all the three questions he asked. He then added that BJP idea had not worked.
This session must be particularly revealing to Rahul and the Congress because for the better part of his opening statement he had blasted the prime minister, the BJP and the RSS. He kept on targeting Modi, saying the government at the Centre was being run by one man and the PMO was controlling it all. By contrast, he (Rahul) stood for dialogue, discussion conversation. He also said in the early part of his life he had been mostly in the company of women - grandmother, mother and sister - and realised that problem in this country was that the women did not get the respect and position they deserved.
But the kind of questions that came indicated that the most girls were not convinced with Rahul’s argument on goodness of the Congress party and evilness of Modi and the BJP.
Interestingly, after he came out of the convention hall, he told media persons that he got no clear view on Swachh Bharat. “Half of them said nothing has happened, some said something has happened.” On Make in India, he said most said “No”, some said ‘’Yes”. The Congress vice-president was perhaps unmindful of the fact that his interaction was broadcast live on all national channels, apparently on feed provided by his party itself.
Sample the questions that came to Rahul from young girl students. The first question from a girl from North-East was: Why no conversation was held with Iron Sahrmila during her years long fast?
Second, you talk about Suit Boot (Modi) government but what’s wrong with that if it brings development and achieves economic growt?
Third, GST, an important economic reform bill was piloted by the Congress but why is the party stalling it when it is moved by the BJP?
Fourth, why is the opposition stalling Parliament merely for opposing the government?
Fifth, why the youth was going either to the BJP or to the AAP and not to the Congress party?
Sixth, does aligning with the RJD in Bihar not mean that the Congress is compromising with corruption?
Seven, why after several years of Congress rule both at the centre and in states, North-East has been left neglected (the girl asking question referred to a particular stretch in Assam).
Such questions continued. Rahul response was not very coherent. He blamed Modi government for all the prevailing ills. For N-E alienation, he blamed the Modi government for withdrawing special status category to these states. For aligning with Lalu he deviated to say prime minister was killing RTI and to Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He did refer to Digvijaya Singh about half a dozen times.
He obviously had a rough landing at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, a place which could have provided him an ideal launching pad to set the “intolerance” agenda against the Modi government in motion for the Winter Session which starts on Thursday.

హైదరాబాద్, నమస్తే తెలంగాణ: అసంబద్ధ, అడ్డగోలు ఆరోపణలు చేసిన ప్రతిపక్షాలకు వరంగల్ లోక్‌సభ స్థానం ఉప ఎన్నికలో ప్రజలు బుద్ధి చెప్పారని ముఖ్యమంత్రి కే చంద్రశేఖర్‌రావు అన్నారు. రాష్ట్రంలోని 17 ఎంపీ స్థానాల్లో గతంలో ఏనాడూ ఎవరికీ ఇవ్వనంత మెజారిటీ ఇచ్చి గెలిపించిన వరంగల్ ప్రజలందరికీ టీఆర్‌ఎస్ తరపున, ప్రభుత్వం తరపున, వ్యక్తిగతంగా తన తరపున చేతులు జోడించి వినమ్రంగా ధన్యవాదాలు తెలుపుతున్నానని పేర్కొన్నారు. వరంగల్ ఉప ఎన్నిక ఫలితాల వెల్లడి అనంతరం మంగళవారం సాయంత్రం తెలంగాణ భవన్‌లో సీఎం కేసీఆర్ విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడారు. 

నాడు... నేడు... ఏనాడైనా... తెలంగాణ సాధించే క్రమంలో కూడా ప్రజలు టీఆర్‌ఎస్ పార్టీకి ఎల్లవేళలా అండగా నిలబడ్డారని అన్నారు. వరంగల్ ఉపఎన్నిక విజయం నేపథ్యంలో ఇదే ఊపులో వచ్చే జీహెచ్‌ఎంసీ ఎన్నికల్లో 80 డివిజన్లలో విజయం సాధిస్తామని ధీమా వ్యక్తం చేశారు. వరంగల్ పార్లమెంటు ఎన్నిక ఫలితం అపురూపమైందని అభివర్ణించిన ముఖ్యమంత్రి.. చరిత్రలో కనీవినీ ఎరుగని ఈ ఫలితం కర్తవ్యాన్ని బోధించిందని, బాధ్యతను మరింతగా పెంచిందని చెప్పారు. దీనివల్ల తమకు ఎలాంటి గర్వం రాబోదన్నారు. ప్రజలిచ్చిన ప్రోత్సాహంతో ద్విగుణీకృత ఉత్సాహంతో పనిచేస్తామన్నారు. 

గత 17 నెలలుగా హైదరాబాద్‌లో కూర్చొని ప్రభుత్వ కార్యక్రమాలకు రూపకల్పన చేసిన తాను ఇక ప్రజల్లోకి వెళ్తానని, బస్సుయాత్ర చేపట్టి ఒక్కో జిల్లాలో ఏడెనిమిది రోజుల చొప్పన పర్యటనలు చేస్తానని సీఎం కేసీఆర్ వెల్లడించారు. ఆకుపచ్చ తెలంగాణ సాధనకోసం ఎన్నికల ప్రచారంలో చెప్పిన విధంగా ప్రాజెక్టుల దగ్గర కుర్చీ వేసుకుని కూర్చుని పనులు చేయిస్తానని అన్నారు. త్వరలో డీఎస్సీ ప్రకటిస్తామని, కాంట్రాక్టు ఉద్యోగులను క్రమబద్ధీకరిస్తామని, మహిళా సంఘాలకు ప్రోత్సాహకాలు ఇస్తామని ప్రకటించారు. మార్చి బడ్జెట్‌నుంచి బీపీఎల్ కార్డులున్న పేదలందరికీ కల్యాణలక్ష్మి వర్తింప చేస్తామన్నారు. పార్టీ శ్రేణులతో ఇంటరాక్షన్‌కు ప్రత్యేక సమయం కేటాయిస్తానని, నామినేటెడ్ పోస్టుల భర్తీ త్వరలోనే ఉంటుందని చెప్పారు. సీఎం ప్రసంగం ఆయన మాటల్లోనే... 

పంథా మార్చుకోని ప్రతిపక్షాలు..

రాష్ట్రంలోని ప్రతిపక్షాలకు ముందు నుంచీ చెప్తున్నా. ఇంత అసహన వైఖరి, గుడ్డి వ్యతిరేకత మంచిది కాదని చెప్పా. అయినా రైతుల రుణమాఫీపై నేను ప్రమాణ స్వీకారం చేసిన ఐదో రోజునే ఒక పత్రిక పిచ్చి పిచ్చి రాతలు రాస్తే ఆ రాతలను పట్టుకొని, నా దిష్టిబొమ్మల్ని దహనం చేశారు. టీఆర్‌ఎస్ దిమ్మెల్ని కూల్చివేశారు. ఇలాంటి అసహన, తొందరపాటు, ఓర్వలేనితనం మంచిదికాదని అసెంబ్లీలోనే చెప్పినా వాళ్లు తమ పంథా మార్చుకోలేదు. అర్థంపర్థంలేని మాటలు, అడ్డగోలు మాటలు. నీచాతి నీచంగా ఒకడు కేసీఆర్‌ను చెట్టుకు కట్టేసి కొట్టాలని అంటే, ఇంకోడు ఇంకోటి. వీటన్నింటినీ ప్రజలు అసహ్యించుకున్నారు. అందుకే వరంగల్ ఉప ఎన్నికలో డిపాజిట్ కూడా రాకుండా ఓడించారు. ప్రజలు ఎంతో సీరియస్‌గా తండోపతండోపాలుగా వచ్చి ఓటింగు శాతాన్ని పెంచారు. 

ఇదేదో డబ్బులిస్తే, ఎవరో ఆర్గనైజ్ చేస్తే కాదు. 69-70 శాతం పోలింగ్ జరగడమంటే 50-50 శాతం తీర్పు రాదు. ప్రజలు ప్రభుత్వానికి వ్యతిరేకంగాగానీ లేకపోతే సానుకూలంగాగానీ ఓట్లేసేందుకే వెల్లువలా వచ్చారు అని ఆరోజే నేను పార్టీ నేతలతో చెప్పాను. ఫలితాల్లో అది ప్రభుత్వ సానుకూల ఓటింగ్ అని తేలింది. నిన్న రాత్రి ఉత్తమ్‌కుమార్‌రెడ్డి ఒక పోస్టు పెట్టారు. టీఆర్‌ఎస్‌కు 53 శాతం ఓట్లు వస్తాయనేది అబద్ధం.. మేమే లక్ష మెజార్టీతో గెలుస్తున్నామని అన్నారు. ఇవాళ చూశారు కదా. 2014 ఎన్నికల్లో కాంగ్రెస్‌కు 2.60 లక్షల ఓట్లు వస్తే ఇప్పుడు 1.57 లక్షల ఓట్లు. గతంలో 22 శాతం ఓట్లతో డిపాజిట్ వస్తే ఇప్పుడు 15 శాతం ఓట్లతో అది కూడా లేదు. అంటే ఏడు శాతం ఓట్లు తగ్గిపోయాయి. సాధారణంగా ప్రతిపక్షాలకు ఓట్లు పెరగాలి. కేసీఆర్ ప్రభుత్వంపై వ్యతిరేకత ఉందని ఏబీఎన్, ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి పిచ్చి పిచ్చి మాటలు చెప్తే ప్రతిపక్షాలు లేనిదానిని, కృత్రిమ వ్యతిరేకతను సృష్టించాలనుకొని చివరకు ప్రజల్లో అభాసుపాలైనాయి. 

ఇకనైనా హుందాగా ఉండండి.. 

ఇప్పటికైనా ప్రతిపక్షాలు నిర్మాణాత్మకంగా, గౌరవంగా, హుందాగా వ్యవహరించాలని కోరుతున్నా. అడ్డంగా మాట్లాడితే ప్రజలకు శాశ్వతంగా దూరమైతరు. ఎందుకింత ఆత్రుత? ఎన్నికలకు ఇంకా మూడున్నర ఏండ్లు ఉంది. పద్ధతిగా లేకుంటే ఇకముందు కూడా ఇలాగే శృంగభంగం తప్పదు. కూటమో, ఇంకోటో వరంగల్‌లో అందరికీ కలిసి ఎన్ని ఓట్లు వచ్చాయో చూశారు. అలాంటిది మిగతా పార్టీలు కలిసి కూటమిగా ఏర్పడి టీఆర్‌ఎస్‌ను ఓడిస్తామనడం అంతర్జాతీయ జోక్. గ్రేటర్ హైదరాబాద్‌లో 80 పైచిలుకు డివిజన్లను నేరుగా టీఆర్‌ఎస్ పార్టీ సొంతం చేసుకుంటది. ఒంటరిగానే పోటీ చేస్తుంది. ఎవరితో పొత్తు ఉండదు. 

విజృంభించి పని చేస్తం.. 

ఉపఎన్నికల్లో ప్రభుత్వం గెలుస్తదనేది నిజం కాదు. బీహార్‌లో బీజేపీ ఓడిపోయింది. మధ్యప్రదేశ్‌లోని రాట్లం లోక్‌సభ సీటు బీజేపీది.. అయినా ఆ పార్టీ 80వేల ఓట్ల తేడాతో కాంగ్రెస్ చేతిలో ఓడిపోయింది. కానీ వరంగల్‌లో వంద శాతం ప్రజలు టీఆర్‌ఎస్‌కు మద్దతునిచ్చారు. ఈ తీర్పుతో ఇంకా విజృంభించి పని చేస్తం. విజయంతో మాకు ఎలాంటి గర్వం రాదు. గెలుపోటములు సహజం. ఉద్యమ సమయంలో గెలిచినం, ఓడినం. ఈ గెలుపుతో మాపై మరింత బాధ్యత పెరిగింది.

నీటి రంగంలో తెలంగాణకు దగా.. 

సాగునీటి రంగంలో తెలంగాణ దగాపడ్డది. సంపూర్ణంగా న్యాయం చేయాలి. కొత్త రాష్ట్రంగా ఏర్పడిన తెలంగాణకు రావాల్సిన నీళ్లను తెచ్చేందుకు ప్రాజెక్టులను డిజైన్ చేయాల్సి ఉంది. తెలంగాణ అభివృద్ధికి పునాదిరాయి వేసే బాధ్యతను ప్రజలు మాకు అప్పగించారు. తప్పుచేసే అధికారం మాకు లేదు. మాకు తెలియకుంటే, అర్థం కాకుంటే విజ్ఙులు, మేధావులను అడిగి తెలుసుకుంటం.. ఆరు నెలలు ఆలస్యమైనా సరే పొరపాటు మాత్రం చేయం. తల తెగిపడినా తెలంగాణకు అన్యాయం జరిగే పనిని మేం చేయంగాక చేయం. 

ఎందుకంటే ఇప్పుడు ఒక తప్పు జరిగితే భవిష్యత్తు తరాలకు ముప్పుగా ఉంటది. అందుకే నీళ్ల దగాను సవరించేందుకు.. శాశ్వతంగా కరువును పోగొట్టేందుకు ప్రాజెక్టులను రీడిజైన్ చేస్తున్నాం. సమైక్య రాష్ట్రంలోని ముఖ్యమంత్రులు ఏనాడూ తెలంగాణకు నీళ్లొచ్చే ప్రాజెక్టులు చేపట్టలేదు. ఎస్సెల్బీసీ ప్రత్యక్ష ఉదాహరణ. ఎస్సారెస్పీ రెండో దశ కింద ఖమ్మం, నల్లగొండ, వరంగల్ జిల్లాల్లో కాలువలు తవ్వినరు. అందులో మొక్కలు పెద్ద వృక్షాలైనా ఇప్పటివరకు నీళ్లు రాలే. కల్వకుర్తి , భీమా, నెట్టెంపాడు ఎన్ని దశాబ్దాల ప్రాజెక్టులు! లోయర్ పెన్‌గంగా, లెండి ప్రాజెక్టులను ఆంధ్ర పాలకులు ఉద్దేశపూర్వకంగా ఖతం చేశారు. ప్రాణహిత-చేవెళ్ల ప్రాజెక్టును కాంగ్రెస్ హయాంలో చేపట్టారు. ఆ ప్రాజెక్టు కింద 16 లక్షల ఎకరాలకు నీళ్లిస్తమని చెప్పి... 14 టీఎంసీల స్టోరేజీని పెట్టినరు. 

16 లక్షలకు 14 టీఎంసీలు పారుతయా? ఈ మాట పిచ్చోనికి చెప్పిన కూడా ఒప్పుకోడు. తుమ్మిడిహట్టి దగ్గర బ్యారేజీని ప్రతిపాదించారు. దానిమీద మహారాష్ట్ర వివాదం. ఇంతే. తెలంగాణ ప్రాజెక్టులమీద ఆంధ్ర పాలకులు అనుసరించిన వ్యూహమే ఇది. అంతర్ రాష్ట్ర వివాదాలున్నయా? మంచిది..లేదంటే సృష్టించు. ప్రాణహిత-చేవెళ్ల ప్రారంభించినపుడే ఆన్‌రికార్డ్.. ఉద్యమ నాయకుడిగా ఉన్న నేను ఖండించిన. మన మునిమనవండ్లు కూడా నీళ్లు చూడరు అన్నా. 2014 ఎన్నికల ప్రచారంలో పరిగి బహిరంగసభలో ప్రాణహిత-చేవెళ్ల ద్వారా పరిగికి నీళ్లు రావు, ఇక్కడికి పాలమూరు పథకం ద్వారానే నీళ్లొస్తయి అన్నా. 

పచ్చ తెలంగాణ నా కల.. 

ఇరిగేషన్ ప్రాజెక్టుల రీడిజైన్ కూడా పూర్తయితుంది. కాళేశ్వరం దిగువన మేడిగడ్డ వద్ద 16 టీఎంసీలతో బ్యారేజీ నిర్మించాలని నిర్ణయించినం. రాజీవ్‌సాగర్-ఇందిరాసాగర్ అనుసంధానంతో ఖమ్మం జిల్లాలో ఐదు లక్షల ఎకరాలకు నీళ్లందిస్తం. లోయర్ పెన్‌గంగ ప్రాజెక్టు 60 ఏండ్ల నుంచి మూలకుపడింది. త్వరలో దానికి శంకుస్థాపన చేస్త. ప్రతి నియోజకవర్గానికి లక్ష ఎకరాలకు సాగునీరు అందించే పనిలో నిమగ్నమైనం. 2021నాటికి తెలంగాణలో కోటి ఎకరాలకు సాగునీరు అందిస్తం. ఈ టర్మ్‌లో మూడున్నర ఏండ్లు, ఆ తర్వాత మరో ఏడాదిన్నరలో డిస్ట్రిబ్యూటరీ నెట్‌వర్క్‌తో సహా ప్రాజెక్టులను పూర్తి చేస్తం.

తెలంగాణను పచ్చగ చేయాలనేదే నా కల. ఇరిగేషన్ ప్రాజెక్టులంటే భూసేకరణ ఏండ్ల తరబడి కొనసాగేది. కానీ ఇప్పుడు ల్యాండ్ అక్వైర్ కాకుండా జీవో 123 ప్రకారం ల్యాండ్ ప్రొక్యూర్‌మెంట్ చేసుకుంటున్నం. పాలమూరు, డిండి ఎత్తిపోతల పథకాలకు బహుశా వచ్చే నెలలో టెండర్లు పిలుస్తారు. అప్పటికి భూమి అంతా సిద్ధంగా ఉంటది. దీనివల్ల 3-4 ఏండ్లలో ప్రాజెక్టులు పూర్తవుతాయి. 3-4 ఏండ్లలో ప్రాజెక్టులు కడితే గులాబీ కండువా వేసుకుంటానని ప్రతిపక్ష నేత జానారెడ్డి అన్నరు. ఆయన గులాబీ కండువా సిద్ధం చేసుకోవాలి. 

ఏ అడుగువేసినా రభసే! 

ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి అనే పత్రిక అసత్య, అసంబద్ధ రాతలతో నాపై, మంత్రులు, టీఆర్‌ఎస్ నేతలపై వ్యక్తిగతంగా అభ్యంతరకరంగా రాసింది. ఇక ప్రతిపక్షాలు ఆంధ్రజ్యోతినే లోకం అనుకుని పిచ్చి కూతలు కూశాయి. ఇవాళ వాళ్లకు ప్రజలు బుద్ధి చెప్పారు. ప్రభుత్వం ఏ పని చేసినా రాద్ధాంతమే. ప్రాజెక్టుల రీడిజైనింగ్ అంటే దాని మీద గోల. రవీంద్రభారతి పాతగైంది. దాని స్థానంలో మినీ రవీంద్రభారతి, ఎన్టీఆర్ స్టేడియంలో బ్రహ్మాండంగా తెలంగాణ కళాభారతి కడతామంటే రభస. టీఆర్‌ఎస్‌కు మంచి పేరు రావద్దని ముసుగువీరులతో కోర్టుల్లో పబ్లిక్ లిటిగేషన్ పిటిషన్లు. సచివాలయం ఎట్లుంది? కూలిపోయిన జీ బ్లాక్, వంకర టింకర రోడ్లు. విదేశీయులు ఎవరన్న వస్త్తే ఇదేం సెక్రటేరియట్?అనుకుంటరు. మంచి సెక్రటేరియట్ నిర్మిస్తామంటే దాని మీద వ్యతిరేకత. 

చెస్ట్ హాస్పిటల్‌ని అనంతగిరికి మార్చాలన్నా, ఉస్మానియా హాస్పిటల్‌లో భవనం శిథిలావస్థకు చేరుకొంది. రోగులు చనిపోతరని జేఎన్‌టీయూ వాళ్లు నివేదిక ఇస్తే దానిని తరలించాలన్నా రభసే. తెలంగాణలోని 45,600 చెరువుల్ని బాగుచేస్తుంటే పనులు మొదలు కాకముందే కమీషన్ కాకతీయ అంటరు. హుస్సేన్‌సాగర్‌లో కెమికల్ కలిసి కంపు కొడుతుంది, అందులోని నీళ్లు ఖాళీ చేసి బాగు చేస్తమంటే దానిపైన ఓ వివాదం. 

బోనాలు, బతుకమ్మకు నిధులిస్తే కేసీఆర్ బిడ్డకు ఇస్తున్నరని అంటరు. కేసీఆర్ బిడ్డ ఒక్కరే బతుకమ్మ ఆడుతరా? తెలంగాణ ఆడబిడ్డలు ఆడరా? ఫార్మాసిటీ కట్టాలని నల్లగొండ జిల్లా ముచ్చర్ల, రాచకొండ గుట్టల్లో నేను, పారిశ్రామికవేత్తలు, జిల్లా కలెక్టర్ హెలిక్యాప్టర్‌లో సర్వే చేసిన. దానికి కేసీఆర్ ఆకాశంనుంచి కిందకు దిగు అని ఒకరంటరు. వరంగల్ పట్టణంలో మురికివాడల్లో పాదయాత్ర చేస్తే. ఏం కేసీఆర్ నువ్వు కార్పొరేటర్‌వా? కౌన్సిలర్‌వా? అంటరు. వాటర్‌గ్రిడ్‌ను రూ.30వేల కోట్లతో చేపడితే రూ.10వేల కోట్లు చాలంటరు. మరి రూ.10వేల కోట్లతో చేయొస్తే మీరెందుకో చేయలేదు? 

సంక్షేమంలో దేశంలోనే నంబర్ వన్..

మేం ప్రజలకు ఇచ్చిన మాటల్ని వంద శాతం నెరవేరుస్తున్నం. ఎవరు ఏమన్నా రైతులకు రుణమాఫీని చేసినం. ఏపీలో గోల్‌మాల్ చేసిండ్రేమోగానీ.. తెలంగాణలో 50 శాతం చెల్లించినం. వచ్చే మార్చి వరకు మిగతా చెల్లిస్తం. ఇది రైతులందరికీ తెలుసు. కాంగ్రెస్ హయాంలో పారిశ్రామికవేత్తలు కరెంటు కోసం ధర్నాలు చేశారు. అలాంటి పరిస్థితి నుంచి ఆరు నెలల్లో ఎవరి ఊహలకు అందని రీతిలో 24 గంటల కరెంటిస్తున్నం. రైతులకు సకాలంలో ఎరువులు, విత్తనాలు అందించినం. గతంలో క్యూలో చెప్పులు పెట్టే దుస్థితి ఉండేది. ఆరు నెలల కాలంలో పరిస్థితిని మార్చినం. రాష్ట్రంలో నాలుగు లక్షల సామర్థ్యమున్న గోడౌన్లు ఉంటే 17 లక్షల సామర్థ్యానికి పెంచినం. రూ.200 నుంచి రూ.1000, రూ.1500 పింఛన్లను పెంచినం. పాఠశాల విద్యార్థులకు సన్నబియ్యం ఇస్తున్నం. దేశంలోనే ఏ రాష్ట్రంలో లేనివిధంగా ఏడాదికి రూ.33వేల కోట్లతో సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాలు చేపడుతున్న ఘనత టీఆర్‌ఎస్ ప్రభుత్వానిది. ఆ సంక్షేమ ఫలాలు ప్రజలకు అందిన ఫలమే వరంగల్ ఎన్నిక ఫలితం. 

జనవరి తర్వాత బస్సు యాత్ర... 

రానున్న 1-2 నెలల్లో జీహెచ్‌ఎంసీ, నారాయణ్‌ఖేడ్ ఎన్నికలతో పాటు బడ్జెట్ సమావేశాలు ఉన్నాయి. వీటన్నింటినీ వచ్చే ఏడాది జనవరి 30లోపు పూర్తిచేస్తా. ఆపై హైదరాబాద్‌లో ఉండను. గతంలో పాలమూరు ఎత్తిపోతలగానీ, గోదావరి ప్రాజెక్టులుగానీ నేను కుర్చీ వేసుకొని కూర్చొని మరీ కట్టిస్తనని చెప్పిన. ఇక బస్సుయాత్రను ప్రారంభిస్తున్న. హైదరాబాద్‌ను వదిలి ఒక్కో జిల్లాలో 8-10 రోజులు ఉంట. 

ఢిల్లీలో గళమెత్తుతం...

రాష్ట్రంలో 231 కరువు మండలాలను ప్రకటించినం. రూ.1000 కోట్లు ఇవ్వాలని కేంద్రానికి నివేదిక కూడా పంపినం. వ్యవసాయ శాఖ మంత్రి పోచారం శ్రీనివాస్‌రెడ్డి ఢిల్లీకి వెళ్లి కేంద్ర వ్యవసాయ మంత్రిని కలిసి కేంద్ర బృందం రావాలని ఆహ్వానిస్తారు. పార్లమెంటు సమావేశాల్లో ఆశ వర్కర్ల సమస్యలపై పోరాడాలని ఎంపీలకు చెప్పిన. పత్తి రైతుల మద్దతు ధరపై యుద్ధమే చేయండని ఎంపీలతో చెప్పిన. 

పారదర్శకంగా లబ్ధిదారుల ఎంపిక..

వరంగల్ పార్లమెంటు ప్రజలు ఇచ్చిన బాధ్యతతో సోయి ఉండి పని చేస్తం. కడుపు, నోరు కట్టుకొని అవినీతికి తావులేకుండా పాలన చేస్తం. ఇండ్ల పథకంలో కేవలం గ్రామాల ఎంపికను మాత్రమే ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై ఉం చాం. లబ్ధిదారుల ఎంపిక కలెక్టర్లకు అప్పగించినం. ఎక్కడా మంత్రు లు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు జోక్యం చేసుకోరు. లబ్ధిదారులను గ్రామసభలో ప్రకటిస్తరు. ఇంకా పారద్శకంగా ఉండేందుకు గ్రామంలో లబ్ధిదారుల పేర్లు రాసి గ్రామసభలో ఒక చిన్నారి చేత లాటరీ తీయించమని చెప్పినం. 

మాట్లాడే ముందు ఆలోచించండి...

సీపీఐ నాయకుడు సురవరం సుధాకర్‌రెడ్డి ఇవాళ చేసిన ప్రకటన నాకు చాలా బాధ కలిగించింది. నాకు మొదటి నుంచి భగవంతుడి మీద విశ్వాసం ఎక్కువ. సుధాకర్‌రెడ్డిలాంటి పెద్ద మనిషి... కేసీఆర్ చేసే యాగంలో షామియానా ఆయన సొంత ఖర్చుతో వేసుకోవాలన్నరు. సొంత ఖర్చుతో కాకుంటే ప్రభుత్వ ఖర్చుతో వేసుకుంటమా! యాగం చేసేటపుడు వినియోగించే ట్రాన్స్‌ఫార్మర్లకు కూడా కరెంటు బిల్లులు కట్టాలని చెప్పిన. యాగమనేది సత్కార్యం. చాలామంది దాతలు ముందుకొస్తరు. మాట్లాడేముందు మంచి చెడ్డ తెలుసుకొని మాట్లాడితే బాగుంటుంది. డిసెంబరు 23-27 వరకు ఆయుత చండీ మహాయాగం చేస్తున్న. ఇది చేయడం అంత సులువు కాదు. ఆర్గనైజ్ చేసేందుకు స్కిల్ కావాలి. నాలుగు వేల మంది బ్రాహ్మణులు కావాలి. ఒక్క రాష్ట్రంలో దొరకరు, 3,4 రాష్ర్టాల నుంచి పిలిపించాలి. ఈ యాగానికి భారత రాష్ట్రపతి, కేంద్ర మంత్రులు ముఖ్య అతిథులుగా వస్తున్నారు. ఏపీ సీఎం చంద్రబాబును కూడా ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నం. 

జర్నలిస్టులకు డబుల్ బెడ్‌రూం కోటా...

కేంద్రంలో రకరకాల పథకాలుంటయి. కొన్ని లబ్ధిదారులు, బ్యాంకుల కంట్రిబ్యూషన్‌తో ఉంటయి. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ తీసుకున్న ఇండ్లు అవే. కేంద్ర మంత్రి వెంకయ్యనాయుడితో రెండు, మూడు సార్లు మాట్లాడిన. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిరుపేదలకు వంద శాతం సబ్సిడీతో డబుల్ బెడ్‌రూం ఇండ్లు కట్టిస్తది. పోలీస్ కానిస్టేబుళ్లు, హోంగార్డులు, మాజీ సైనికోద్యోగులకు డబుల్ బెడ్‌రూం ఇండ్లలో పది శాతం వాటా ఇస్తాం. రాష్ట్రంలో జర్నలిస్టులకు ఈ ఇండ్లలో కొంత వాటా ఇవ్వాలని ఆలోచిస్తున్నం. ప్రెస్ అకాడమీ చైర్మన్ అల్లంనారాయణతో మాట్లాడతా. రాష్ట్రంలో 10-12వేల మంది వరకు జర్నలిస్టులు ఉండవచ్చు. కొంత కోటాను ఫిక్స్ చేస్తం. 

వీసీల నియామకానికి సెర్చ్ కమిటీ...

గత ప్రభుత్వాల హయాంలో యూనివర్సిటీ వీసీలు దిగిపోయే రెండు, మూడు రోజుల ముందు 300-400 మంది ఉద్యోగులను నియమించిపోయారు. అలాంటివి పునరావృతం కాకుండా మంచి వారిని వీసీలుగా నియమించేందుకు సెర్చ్ కమిటీని వేసినం. నెల, నెలన్నర రోజుల్లో వీసీలు, పాలకమండలి ఏర్పాటు చేస్తం. 

తక్షణ కార్యాచరణ ఇది...

-పట్టణాల్లో మెప్మా అని, గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో ఇంకో పేరుతో రాష్ట్రంలో 40-50వేల వరకు గ్రూపులు మంచిగ పనిచేస్తున్నయి. త్వరలో వాళ్లకు తీపి కబురు అందిస్తం. ప్రోత్సాహకాలు అందిస్తం. 
-నెలన్నర, రెండు నెలల్లో కాంట్రాక్టు ఉద్యోగుల క్రమబద్ధీకరణను పూర్తిచేస్తం. 
-10-15 రోజుల్లో డీఎస్సీని ప్రకటిస్తం. క్వాలిఫైడ్ టీచర్లు 1998, 2006 డీఎస్సీ అభ్యర్థులకు కూడా ఉద్యోగాలియ్యాలని నిర్ణయించినం. 
-ఈ ఏడాదిలో 60-65వేల డబుల్ బెడ్‌రూం ఇండ్లను నిర్మింస్తున్నం. వచ్చే మార్చి నుంచి ఒక లక్ష, ఆపై రెండు లక్షలు. స్టెప్‌బై స్టెప్ పెంచుతం. 

-వాటర్‌గ్రిడ్ ద్వారా పేద కుటుంబాల వాళ్లకు ప్రభుత్వమే నల్లాలను బిగించాలని కూడా నిర్ణయించినం.
-అ క్రైస్తవులకు క్రిస్మస్ సందర్భంగా రెండు లక్షల మంది పేద క్రైస్తవులకు దుస్తుల పంపిణీ ,ప్రభుత్వపరంగానే మధ్యాహ్నం విందు ఇస్తం. 
-కల్యాణలక్ష్మి పథకం బీపీఎల్ కార్డు ఉన్న ప్రతి ఒక్క కుటుంబానికి అమలు చేస్తం. బీసీలతోపాటు అగ్రకులాల్లోని పేదలకు కూడా ఇది వర్తిస్తుంది. 
-మంత్రులకు ప్రత్యేక అభివృద్ధి నిధి కింద రూ.25 కోట్ల చొప్పున ఇవ్వనున్నాం. 
-మా యువ ఎంపీ బాల్క సుమన్ కోరినట్టు కళాశాల, యూనివర్సిటీ హాస్టళ్లలోనూ రాబోయే ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరం నుంచి సన్న బియ్యం పంపిణీ చేస్తం. 

-రానున్న వారంరోజుల్లో నామినేటెడ్ పోస్టుల భరీ ప్రక్రియను మొదలుపెట్టి నెల రోజుల్లో పూర్తి చేస్తం.

MUMBAI: Indrani Mukerjea had a soft corner for Vidhie, her daughter from her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and was afraid that the entire property might go to Sheena Bora and Rahul Mukerjea after their engagement because Peter Mukerjea liked Rahul, his son from his first marriage. She therefore planned a conspiracy along with Sanjeev and her driver Shyamwar Rai to kill Sheena, says the 4,300-odd-pages-long chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, citing it as the motive behind the murder most foul that has had the nation in its grip since her arrest on August 25.

Indrani and Khanna refused to undergo a lie detection and narco analysis test. But the CBI said it has enough evidence of Sheena's murder being carried out by Indrani, Khanna and Rai and also an attempt to kill Mikhail.

The chargesheet weaves a story of criminal intent at work in Indrani's mind as she even wrote a "positive response" to a "passionate email from Sheena who said she was very 'happy and safe with Rahul' and questioned her mother why she was "so upset" because of it, barely a month-and-a-half before she was killed. "The positive response from Indrani was a part of strategy to lure her into her confidence so that she could execute her plan to eliminate her own daughter who was creating trouble for her," says the chargesheet, a copy of which TOI has in its possession.

Indrani was not happy with the love affair and sent Sheena first to Delhi and then to Bangalore. Rahul found that medicines given by Indrani to Sheena were sedatives meant for mental illness and a doctor suggested she should not take them. He moved Sheena to Mumbai, where they lived together in a rented house and stopped talking to Indrani and Peter, who expected an apology from them.

In 2004, Indrani had made a will in Sheena's favour over a New Delhi flat, says the chargesheet. She and Peter sold the flat in 2010, but Rahul contested his father's signature on his will which Indrani claimed had left her half the flat. Altercation and an acrimonious relationship continued in the Mukerjea household when in 2011, Peter told his son not to attend a family wedding, but he and Sheena did, causing a quarrel and an outburst from Indrani. The scene prompted Vidhie to SMS Rahul. The SMS said, "...Mama is getting 'worried' about you 2 so I am just warning you guys.. pl don't say anything because I will actually be dead. If not dead Mama will do something soooooo bad...trust me..Mama says she doesn't want to break up the relationship she wants to get someone out of the way. I ve just heard something exotic..."

The CBI said Indrani's and Sheena's strained relationship was evident again in April 2011. Sheena wrote to Peter, "My problem is only with Indrani which is personal. You could make Indrani understand that bad mouthing me or Rahul wont (sic) solve anything." Indrani tried hard to end Sheena and Rahul's relationship, including with an email threat by Mikhail to disinherit her from the ancestral home in Guwahati.

Sheena and Rahul's engagement in October 2011 was perhaps the final nail, the chargesheet suggests. Indrani disinherited Sheena from her property and assets and emailed Mikhail about it.

An upset Sheena poured out her pain in a mail to her mother on March 9, 2012, little knowing perhaps that a month and half later, her life would be snuffed out. She questioned her on the disinheritance and said, "You should have either not given birth to me or not left me with your parents. Why didn't you take me with you? What and where have all this left me now?? All of this has left me really hurt and devastated once again. I am very happy and safe with Rahul...Shouldn't that be the most important thing for parents..I am your daughter I have some of you in me..I will find my way through life and be just fine."

The CBI said Indrani and Khanna were still in touch and conspired so that Vidhie would benefit financially from all properties of Indrani and Peter as a January 7, 2011 will executed by Peter and Indrani left Vidhie as legal heir to some properties.

The driver, Rai, was given Rs1.25 lakh for planning and helping with disposing the dead body to destroy evidence. In the first week of April 2012, Indrani called Sheena for dinner and Sheena told Rahul she noticed a change in Indrani's behaviour. Indrani informed her driver and assistant about her visit to Mumbai (from UK) on April 23 in advance. Rai hired a car and visited Khapoli in Lonavala on April 22 and went to receive Indrani at the airport the next day. Both went to Lonavala to finalize the body disposal spot, on the return purchased two big- size bags, stored them in the car boot and met Sheena the next day for her engagement gift and dinner at Amarsons showroom in Khar.

On April 24, the day of the murder, Indrani, says the CBI, purchased liquor, water, sedatives, hand gloves and also visited a beauty parlour. She purchased two pairs of male shoes and one female pair.

Rahul dropped Sheena so she could meet her mother and left. Indrani, Khanna, Rai and Sheena took the car towards Pali Hill in Bandra, where Sheena turned drowsy from drinks her mom plied her with. Shyamwar covered her mouth, Khanna pulled her hair and Indrani strangulated her.

To Rahul's calls, Indrani sent an SMS from Sheena's phone that she'd stay back with Indrani. The next day, he received a message from Sheena's phone that she was "enjoying herself" and then that she wished to "discontinue our relationship". "I don't have the heart to say this to u. I met someone else. In fact I v left wth him," the message said.

Rahul persisted with his queries, questioned the inconsistent response, saved the SMSes and recorded phone conversations with Peter and Indrani, which CBI took on record in its probe.

Indrani then went on a spree of misinforming people, including Rahul, Vidhie, Sheena's friends and her workplace, that Sheena was happy and in US. No police action was taken to trace Sheena despite Rahul's request.

On August 22, Rai showed Mumbai cops the places where he and Indrani went to hide the body and where it was burnt. Earlier, on May 23, Pen cops had informed the Mumbai cops about a dead body and sent samples to the Kalina lab.

Rakesh Maria, the then police chief, swung into action and when he arrested Indrani she spilled the beans.

Discovery of Iridium
Iridium was discovered in 1803, by English chemist Smithson Tennant in London.

He found it in the residue left when crude platinum had been dissolved in aqua regia (a mixture of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid).

Smithson Tennant also discovered osmium at the same time.

Iridium’s name comes from the Latin word ‘iris’, meaning rainbow, because many of its salts are highly colored.

Abnormally high amounts of iridium have been found in rocks dating to the K-T boundary between the Cretaceous and Tertiary periods (65 million years ago).

This has led to a widely held view that an iridium-containing comet struck the Earth at that time, which led to the extinction of the dinosaurs and many other forms of life.

Iridium in powder form is a known irritant and is a fire hazard.

Characteristics:

Iridium is a rare, hard, lustrous, brittle, very dense platinum-like metal.

Chemically it is very unreactive.

It is the most corrosion-resistant metal known and it resists attack by any acid.

Iridium is attacked by molten salts such as sodium chloride (NaCl) and sodium cyanide (NaCN).

Iridium is generally credited with being the second densest element (after osmium) based on measured density, although calculations involving the space lattices of the elements show that iridium is denser.


Uses of Iridium
The main use of iridium is as a hardening agent for platinum alloys.

With osmium, it forms an alloy that is used for tipping pens, and compass bearings.

Iridium is used in making crucibles and other equipment that is used at high temperatures.

It is also used to make heavy-duty electrical contacts.

Iridium was used in making the international standard kilogram, which is an alloy of 90% platinum and 10% iridium.

Radioactive isotopes of iridium are used in radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer.
